I’m currently running (at home):
Dungeon Crawl Classics, both at home and on G+. I’ve also started another blog Elves & Espers, detailing some of my house rules and ideas for adapting my old science-fantasy setting for DCC.
Tabletop RPGs I’m currently playing (at home) include:
Zap! 40K (using Zap! to play in the Warhammer 40K universe.
I’m currently running (online):
A DCC one-shot featuring modern day plane-crash survivors catapulted into a far past (or is it future?) fantastic world.
Tabletop RPGs I’m currently playing (online) include:
DCC Keep on the Borderlands.
I would especially like to play/run:
DCC, Kapow!, Zap! or Zounds!, Empire of the Petal Throne, MSG (with somebody else GMing)
…but would also try:
Most D&D-esque games, superhero and SF games that aren’t too crunchy and aren’t completely story-driven. I like games where you make decisions based on the character’s motivations, not the player’s motivations as author of the character.
I live in:
Pennsylvania. That’s in the US.
2 or 3 well-known RPG products other people made that I like:
Not counting the 800-pound gorillas: Arduin Grimoire, Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Traveller
2 or 3 novels I like:
as RPG-fodder: Jack of Shadows, The Stainless Steel Rat, Ringworld
2 or 3 movies I like:
Again, as RPG fodder: The Avengers, For a Fistful of Dollars, Conan
Best place to find me on-line:
G+ is pretty much the only place to find me online, other than this blog.
I will read almost anything on tabletop RPGs if it’s:
Constructive and insightful with concrete examples, even if it’s not particularly to my taste, as long as it’s about playing games and not about marketing or evangelizing them.
I really do not want to hear about:
Why you think other people are having badwrongfun or how we need to band together to stop them for the sake of the children; I’m also not particularly interested in RPGs as an industry.
I think dead orc babies are ( circle one: funny / problematic / ….well, ok, it’s complicated because….)
Funny or horrifying, depending on how you handle it.
Game I’m in are like (link to something)
at least that’s what I strive for: I’m usually found playing the Man with a Plan
Free RPG Content I made for _______(name of game(s) here) is available here (link).
Superhero, Supernatural, SF, or Fantasy games are available at RPGNow.com . These are entire game systems, free for the taking. There’s other stuff, but it’s mostly on this blog, or on Elves & Espers.
You can buy RPG stuff I made about _____ here (link)
Sandbox RPG games, as part of the Open Gaming Table Anthology at Amazon.com. It’s also on the blog.
If you know anything about _____ it’d help me with a project I’m working on
Design and layout, particularly with InDesign or Scribus
I talk about RPGs on
this blog, and G+ as Joshua Macy
And here I thought the games usually went like this:
It’s the difference between the games I play in and the games I run.
A fine idea. I’m in: http://deathandaxes.blogspot.com/2013/10/my-rpg-person-profile_3495.html
